About delabs
This is in continuation of the earlier story About delabs. This predates the story of Process Control i rendered there.
This blog is in memory of the email newsletter. Amps-n-Volts. It ran for three years, it had over 100 subscribers, around 2002-3. This blog is dedicated to Test & Measurement Instruments and Equipment. I started as an Instrumentation Engineer even while i was doing my degree, i got a part time job in a Instrumentation Marketing firm called TMPL. Here they would Sell and Service brands like Genrad, Racal Dana, Data I/O, Electrovert. They were also manufacturing a 8085 based Optical Component Assembly Guidance System.
Here is one of my first Commercial Products, a 20 Tera Ohm Insulation Tester I made around 20 Years Back. It had even Polarization Index for Transformer Insulation.
A regulated, low ripple, high voltage of very low current capability is applied by instrument on a DUT (device under test). The leakage current in nA or pA (picoamps, nanoamps) is measured and readout, The Innovation i did was to measure the current in Vref and not Vin of ICL7107, this made the 1/x computation. – Insulation Tester.

Just after Engineering College, I was Two-Timing, A semiconductor Marketing Job on one hand, on evenings and weekends a Secret Instruments Research and Manufacturing Lab called DACT Elektrotech Laboratories. There was no Conflict of Interest, at least this term was not yet invented yet. Soon my MBA Manager found out my hidden operation, but he pretended he was unaware. He later helped me get a customer who had a need of custom instrumentation. This instrument was a Transistor Beta and Vce Tester, used in Incoming Inspection of Power Transistors.
